The autumn is gonna be here soon, practically the summer is over. Many of us are thinking still in those days that we spent on hollidays, while we set our minds to the cold little by little. Between my efforts for become aware of this, I have included the task to decorate a little the living room to pass the winter confortable in it. There is still a lot of work at home and the living room was one of the outstanding things, still lack the dining room, the master bedroom... but as I said: little by little. Besides the summer heat didn´t produce in me the desire to start paint, restore or even move a piece of forniture. In fact, if was possible, not move myself the swiming pool, sun loungers or wherever it could be cold.

And speaking of sun loungers, I had the trouble that many of us have always when this time arrives we have to re-save them in the storage room to avoid not suffer damage this winter in the open. And I thought, "and if I put it here?" and the idea of putting one in the living room didn´t dislike me, besides to remind me that summer always comes back.
In the background, the plant is a recycle, if you prefer call it that. The plant was in rubbish, so I took it and simply I decorated the pot with a little white paint and rope. The plant was in perfect condition. Mind you, I have no idea which plant is, so I'm investigating.
The "table" next to the sun lounger are two metal baskets belonging to a typical kitchen cabinet where they usually put onions, potatoes and these kinds of things... I just turned down a basket and another face up and I used them to place books and complete this corner ready to relax.

Ups! Mira quien se ha colado en la foto detrás de la ventana!! :D
Another things I wanted to do, was to give a new look to these pads. The idea of burlap or fabric bags with crochet is not mine. The other day in my visit at the mall I saw for sale combined cushions with this textures so I thought it was very simple to make and also I had this fabric in home. About the crochet piece I bought made, but obviously if you're good making crochet you can always do it yourself, this is not my case.
Oops! Look who has crept into the picture behind the window! :D

You know that decorating with glass bottles, is economic, is in fashion and is a great way to recycle. I've done this many times you can see it here, but this time, in the first bottle, I combined, some arina to simulate white sand in beaches and some shells from the beach, in the second I picked up my dry roses to the garden and the third a little dried lavender.

I introduce you Lulú and Pisquita, Pisqui for friends. They are my new pets. A Series of Unfortunate Events in recent months has left us alone in the company of our animal family after so many years together. Silvestra, one of our cats to which I had a special appreciation, died in March possibly poisoned at the golf field which is next to our house. After that, we put all security measures in our garden to the rest of our cats do not go out and not suffer the same luck as her, but we did not know that we what we had left so well done, that if a giant and a bad dog belongs to our neighbor some day wants enter into our garden making a hole our cats can´t go out. so Pirri and Cuchi died, our two others cats. And to top it off a week later Lili, our dog, was lost in Malaga area of Bel-Air (Estepona) on August 24 at my my parents home while I'm traveling in Portugal, she scared with the noise of the fair rockets and she scape with the open door. We never heard any more about her, we have looked for fields, we have put posters in several areas (here the description on the website of the Adana protective case anyone reads this in the area and was able to see it).
Well ... Pisquita and Lulu came to become our new family. Pisquita is a lovely cat and Lulu who just spent three weeks with us is very playful, a little annoying and a little filthy as every puppies hahahaha but definitely they are so cute...
And back to the decor, Here you are the little chair that I restored and about which I spoke here. At last I was able to place it on the site that I had in mind.

Well, yesterday was fun creating this other space. I had in mind this drawers to put in the dinner room, but as yet I have the dining room "disabled" so I had thought to put it in this other corner of the living room because this space was a bit ... boring. I do not know if I will leave the furniture here forever or when the living room be available it will be moving there and here I shall replace it with something else. Meanwhile stays here.
About the finish of the drawers I have to say that it was of these traditional yellowing varnish, so I thought sanding much to remove the lacquer finish and give it that worn look. Then you have to pass clear wax to protect the furniture.

The cylindrical white boxes which you see in the background are typical cookies boxes, a little white spray paint and go. If you prefer you can also apply decopage technique to decorate and personalize.

These cups I bought at a bazaar, I love the tin things and it color give it a look retro what I find charming. The shells and other pieces from the sea I love to incorporate them in every corner to remind the sea that is away from me.

Here's this old phone that I bought from a flea market in Benahavis (Malaga) a perfect place to get cheap and specials things. I promise to bring you a new post of this market in the future. As the candelabra is another recycling, I had a small lamp broken saved in the storage room, so I painted in white, I put a candle in it and little else.
Well I hope you have enjoyed these corners and I hope that i can have given many ideas. Continue doing recycling and decorating in home.
